It generally starts with a chainsaw.  My turnings are primarily from Cape Cod trees blown down by storms, removed for safety, “progress” or because they are dying.

I am a self-taught woodturner influenced by world class Woodturners including members of the Cape Cod Woodturning Club.   I love to explore the hidden beauty within trees and often find myself Lost in the Woods.

My work has been featured in exhibits at the Cotuit Center for the Arts, the Falmouth Art Center, the Centerville Historical Museum, and the Cultural Center of Cape Cod.

I am the current President of the Cape Cod Woodturners and a member of the American Association of Woodturners. As an active turner I do woodturning demonstrations at club meetings, public events and I am a mentor to Cape Cod Woodturner club members.

Lost in the Woods,

Clarke Buchanan
